How to Achieve an Ideal Society

How to Achieve an Ideal Society Posted on August 25, 2011 by apuppylover | Leave a comment Street beggars, hungry people, sick people, racists, selfish people, drugged people, and all the other bad stuff people are now in state. Is this the kind of society we want to have? In this present earth of ours, there is a need for the betterment of our world. Of course we all want to have a perfect society. I mean, who doesn’t, right? Each and every one of us has their own opinion regarding their envisioned “ideal” society. We have our own sense of judgment around things. we classify things if they’re right or wrong. But what is really right and well for everyone? Is your ideal society achievable in our present time? We may have our own ideas on what society we want to impose to our own world, and/or country, but how can we achieve it? How can one actually help in making our world, or country, a better place to live in, to make our dreams on our ideal society come true? Can this even be achieved? What possible actions can we, ourselves, do to make this possible? How? How? How? These questions rather have a very strong impact to our minds when we focus on how we are going to attain the ideal society we have in our dreams; these questions also help us in making the ideal society of ours possible so that we may transform our dream society into a real society that may sprout in our present world. Utopia is the kind of place wherein every one of us is in harmonious terms, as defined by Plato. This society sets a strong aura of perfectness when known. But is it really perfect? In our group’s ad about our ideal society is similar to that of Plato’s. We focused on the unity, honesty and joy (basically love for one another) of others as basis to our prescribed society. But these are not yet concrete ways to which we can do to achieve our ideal society. To that, I can show you ways wherein we can attain the ideal society that we propose through those traits I just stated above. First is UNITY. In the Bible, Jesus said, “Man cannot live on bread alone.” This is a simple quote from Jesus that primarily tells us that we should live in unity. A revolution does not succeed unless there is unity. In fact, it can’t even exist without unity. A society cannot prosper when unity is not present. Like a grain of rice, we cannot be satisfied enough with this, we need to have a lot more to have a satisfying meal. With unity, you can act as one body to have a much stronger bond thus making a successful goal. As a concrete example of acting on our ideal society, I can say that a simple act as helping others together, we can make our society better. A room full of dirt can’t be clean in a short time when only one person is cleaning it; it needs more than one person to accomplish the job faster. Through unity, you can achieve more in the progression of the society. When everybody teams up, we can achieve our goal. Second is HONESTY. In the government of the Philippines today, there is no doubt that there is corruption among the people working there especially the government officials. Well of course the government would not work properly when the citizens know that the government officials they voted for are dishonest; who would want that to happen? As everyone says, “Honesty is the only best policy”. That saying indeed is further expounded in real life. Every one of us doesn’t want to be cheated on. We want the truth and nothing but the truth. Being an honest government official, you can perform tasks which are very more likely to lead people to support you more in the projects to come. People will basically have your back because they trust that you would lead them to a right path. Through honesty, you can perform better as an official. But you can also help the society even if you’re not a government official. Also, through honesty, you can do things without fear of being guilty. Thirdly, I would like to assess on LOVE for the society. The society will fall apart when there is no love. How can u push through with being honest and united when you yourself do not love or care about others in your society? How can u make decisions that are for the best of everyone? This trait will also help in being a more effective citizen in your society. By loving, actions like helping others can be of great importance to the society. When picking up trash in some area, that’s already a small step towards progression, but what’s more effective is when we unite. Loving is caring; caring will result to actions for the betterment of the society. True enough, these traits will help in the betterment of the society. These traits would lead you along the right paths to go on your journey towards achieving your ultimate dream society. These traits would also lead you into acting on the first steps that make up the ideal society not only for ours, but also to your ideal society. All of us need to act upon the start of our ideal society, and what better amount of energy to consume than to the betterment of the society? But we must also remember that in achieving this ideal society, it takes time. As quoted from a bible study leader of our church, “Things of great importance take time” I do believe in this saying and I live by it by being patient. Same as ours, we also need to be patient in the journey of marching towards the goal. We must work hard enough to be able to attain the goal. We must also never give up, or else we’d never get anywhere near the goal itself. We must always look up to the prize to which we are working hard for, by that we get inspired and be juiced up in energy to perform our duties as citizens of the society and work even harder for the goal to be attained.
